Michael Jackson and Vanilla Ice. For a boy aged 10-13, growing up during the transformation in Poland in the years 87-90, both characters were colorful icons from a different better world. He was charmed. He wanted to dance like them, dress like them, be like them. He had no idea what the stories were behind each of these idols, he didn’t really think too much about racism, why someone wouldn’t want to be black, and does white people „steal” something when he wants to rap? What is the cost of fame, what is depression and how you can not find yourself in the world, having money and fame.
Guilty Pleasure is like a sense of shame, like a sense of guilt, like a pleasure paid for by the burden of awareness after 30 years.

Vanilla
Portrait of „ultra” white rapper – one hit wonder – Vanilla Ice. A boy from the south of the USA who, while performing „black” music, became the star of one song. Grinded by a showbusiness machine, he was mentally broke down, failed and disappeared for a long time.
